Q: Who are the Cypress Seahawks?
A: We are a group of coaches from Cypress who have a similar approach to youth football. We pride ourselves on our high character coaches and stress fundamentals, teamwork and development of those that want to play this great game.
Q: Is your league recreational or select?
A: We are a competitive or ‘select’ football team. At each level, the Seahawk football and cheer coaches will make all roster determinations while considering many factors. There is no roster minimum or maximum in football or cheer. We want to offer the best coaching possible to every participant while giving kids playing time. Contact your divisions Head Coach for more information about this.
Q: Who can play or cheer?
A: Our organization provides football and cheer for boys and girls ages 4 – 12, as of July 31st. Everyone is welcome to attend open workouts, camps and try outs.
Q: Where are teams located?
A: Cypress is the backbone and home of our organization. All of our football and cheer teams are based in Cypress and will practice in Cypress. While the team is based here, there are no zoning or boundaries dictating where players can live. Check our website for more information.
Q: What's included with my registration?
A: Your registration secures your spot on a team for the entire season! Each player will receive 2 complete uniforms (jerseys and integrated pants), painted helmet (you provide the helmet), helmet decals, socks, all games filmed and hosted online, training from former D1 athletes and incredible coaching from some of the most respected and successful youth coaches in the area.
Q: Where do you play games?
A: We will play an 8-game schedule and we will host 4 home games. Our home games will be played right here in our backyard in Cypress. Away games will be determined closer to the season when the schedule is released by the league. Visit our Schedule page where game schedule will be posted once it is released.
Why play Football?
When done RIGHT, football is one of the beneficial sports in the country for kids—and it’s easy to see why. The values of football set up kids for success on and off the field. The game inspires character, leadership, resilience and teamwork -- key life skills that transfer from the huddle to the classroom and beyond. Too many coaches, teams and organizations make football about the adults. We are giving it back to the kids.

Q: How much playing time can my child expect?
A: There is no minimum requirement for playing time. We will do our best to ensure all players receive playing time, but this is not a recreational league. Players will learn to compete and chase what is important to them. We will invest time and instruction in every player on the roster. We play TEAM football. We play as one unit, and every player has a job to do. Your child will determine their playing time, not the coaches.
Q: How many players are on a team?
A: There are no roster minimum or maximum requirements. Our Seahawk coaches will make the determination as to the roster size.
Q: Does the organization supply uniforms?
A: YES! We handle every aspect of the uniforms from the design, purchase and distribution. We will have uniform fittings and each player will receive a home and an away uniform.
Q: Who are the coaches?
A: Please see our website for our Head Coaches and their bios. Behind each head coach is numerous assistant coaches. Collectively these staffs are some of the most successful and well-respected members of our community.
Q: When and where are practices?
A: More information will be announced this summer. We will begin team practices in mid-July. Practices will be held here in Cypress and typically run 2 hours.
Q: Do all football players need mouth pieces?
A: It is absolutely mandatory that all players are wearing a mouth piece before stepping on the field.
Q: Do you play in the rain?
A: Yes, we play in the rain. Football is an outdoor team sport and weather is a part of the game. We will not play with lightning in the area.
Q: How will I know if games are cancelled?
A: Games or camps could change due to a school event, weather, or venue conflicts/issues. All parents and coaches will be notified if this occurs via email, website news and Facebook/IG posts.
Q: How do I register?
A: All of our registrations are taken online. Visit our Registration page to see available programs.
CHEER SPECIFIC
Q: How are cheer squads formed?
A: Cheer squads will be formed at the conclusion of registration and the squad sizes and number of squads depends on registration totals. Coaches will make all determinations.
Q: What is included in my Cheer Registration?
A: Included in your registration fee is full cheer uniform (fitted top and skirt), bloomers, pom poms, bows, cheer chair and cheer bag. There is a separate registration process with the league which is beyond our control. Your Cheer clinic and Cheer competition fee is included in that cost.
Q: Is there a Cheer Clinic?
A: Yes! Our league offers a multi-day cheer clinic and our Seahawk coaches have the option to host their own camps and clinics.
Q: Is there a competition?
A: Yes! Our league hosts one of the largest and most competitive cheerleading competitions in the Houston Metropolitan area. This will be held toward the end of the season.
